Detailed Description
Guyanese Pride Vermicelli Noodles, Fine 10oz (No Eggs)
This is a traditional Guyanese Muslim sweet. It's called vermicelli, after the noodles used to make it. It's a a mixture of vermicelli and milk and sugar that's sort of congealed.
Trinis don't make this very often, but call it sawine cake, because our Muslim sweet using the vermicelli noodles is called sawine (we call the noodles sawine), and it's made into a soup/drink. The noodles are "parched" (browned) and swim in sweet spiced milk (a little like this Pakistani vermicelli), with nuts and raisins (optional for some of us).
